You can book the marriage date on any day on Mobile or by personal visitation. You can get married in Arya Samaj Temple on any day because we do not observe any holiday.  If you desire to visit and see the Temple before marriage ceremony, you are most welcome, and at the same time you can fulfill all your documentary requirements regarding the marriage during this visit.

What is Arya Samaj Marriage?

Arya Samaj marriage in India is very different from the marriages that usually happen. The Arya Samaj marriage takes place in the Arya Samaj temple as per the Vedic tradition without any traditional ceremony.

All Arya Samaj marriages are conducted under the Hindu Marriage Act. Arya Samaj marriage can take place between an adult boy and girl of Hindu religion. After Arya Samaj marriage, if it is to be registered legally, then both the parties have to apply directly to the marriage registrar.

Before knowing about Arya Samaj marriage let us look at some of the common questions asked in this process.

1- Can Arya Samaj marriage registration be done online?

The answer is no. It is mandatory to be present in front of the marriage officer for registration, only then registration of Arya Samaj marriage is possible.

2 – Is parental approval necessary for Arya Samaj marriage?

The answer to this question is also no. Provided you are an adult and the rules laid down for court Arya Samaj marriage have been followed.

Important conditions for Arya Samaj marriage, which need to be followed

If previously married

If you are a widow or widower you will have to give a death certificate. If you are a divorcee you will have to give a degree of divorce. Photocopy of every type of documentation and original papers are also needed.

There cannot be Arya Samaj marriage in mutual relations. Means aunt, sister etc. At the time of marriage, both the parties i.e. bride and groom should be able to give their valid consent i.e. ‘legally ready’. That is, they should be involved in the process voluntarily.

Ages

For Arya Samaj marriage or court marriage, it is necessary for the male to be above 21 years of age and the female to be above 18 years of age. Both the parties must be physically fit for procreation. Apart from this, both should be mentally stable i.e. healthy.

Documents Required for Arya Samaj Marriage

• 4 passport size photographs of the bride and groom
• Identity proof (copy of Aadhaar card or driving license)
• 10th/12th mark sheet or birth certificate
• Affidavit to prove that neither of the bride and groom is in any illegal relationship.
• Photographs and PAN card of witnesses Divorce papers if divorced, or death certificate of ex-spouse if deceased

Arya Samaj Marriage Registration (Marriage Certificate)

After marriage in Arya Samaj temple, a marriage certificate is available, but after this marriage, registration has to be done in the court. Marriage registration is an official certificate which proves that two people are married. Marriages in India can be registered under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 or the Special Marriage Act 1954.

Since 2006, the Supreme Court has made registration of marriages mandatory. So that the rights of women can be protected. Marriage Registration Certificate required To apply passport, to open a new bank account, to apply visa. Many times after marriage, couples settle abroad, for them registration of marriage and its certificate is necessary.

While booking the premises on the phone all you have to do is to let us know your name, date of performing the proposed marriage, Time, Address, and contact number.

We do not have any holidays at our Arya Samaj Mandir in Delhi instead all seven days of marriages are solemnized. You are welcome to get your Arya samaj marriage performed on Sundays and festival holidays as well. Please note that we achieve marriages during the day and they are not performed in the night hours.

When you have fixed your marriage date and are coming for the Arya samaj marriage to be solemnized you need to bring with you the following:

• Age Proof Certificate
• Residence Proof
• 8 photos of each partner
• 2 Witnesses with voter id card

If you have completed all your documentary formalities you may come for marriage on the same day. It would be helpful if you book the premises in advance before 2 or 4 days to avoid any inconvenience. Please note that do not come before calling us on the phone. You are advised to make a phone call before starting for Arya Samaj Mandir, Harit Vihar, it is helpful for us in order to make the necessary preparations.

Once you have completed all the above formalities, your marriage will be solemnized by our Priest of the Arya Samaj Temple by reciting Mantras according to the Vedic Scriptures and Hindu rituals and traditions. After solemnizing the marriage we will provide you with the Legal Arya Samaj Certificate of Marriage.

The certificate of marriage provided by Arya Samaj Mandir is fully valid and it entitles you to become a Husband –wife legally. After receiving the concerned Certificate no one can harm you legally and cannot challenge your marriage in a court of law. On the basis of this certificate, if you wish, you may later register your marriage with the Office of Registration of Marriage in your area.

Important Information About Arya Samaj Marriage

• The boy’s age must be above 21 years and the girl’s age must be 18 years.
• During the marriage solemnizing ceremony, the girl should bear a sober and appreciable dress. Jeans, half jeans and odd dresses are not allowed.
• Please note that we do not determine or decide any auspicious day for marriage as such, because, according to the principle of Arya Samaj we believe that all days are equal and created by God.
